I had to admit I was a nerd in high school. I wore the biggest spectacles and I was president of the computer club - sort of like, a village elder in a rather small tribe of computer geeks.
In a school where having a CSAT of 97 would qualify you as not-so-smart - being a nerd was already quite a feat. (Well, there were worse cases, like those that talked to plants and those that never took baths).
